Meet the Seaford Mermaids.

A phenomenal bunch of women and men who every morning throw themselves into the icy seas of the South Coast.

Originally, this was going to be a study of the dedication and motivation of these early risers but during the recce it became clear to me that the bathers were emerging from the water with a lustre and energy that had not been there before their swim. This was obvious to the human eye but was it possible to capture on camera. At 7am on a clear morning my small crew and I gathered on a freezing cold pebble beach to find out.
