Sussex Peasant
We are just starting a wonderful local project with The Sussex Peasant, Locate Productions and Mere Mortals. We’ll be filming and shooting the farms and the farmers who together grow the produce of The Sussex Peasant, who bring local, sustainable and organic food to us without travelling hundreds of miles and using unnecessary packaging.
As a taster of what’s to come, I couldn’t resist capturing some of the stars of the show during our recce.
They are Bob, who didn’t start farming until he was 50. He and his wife run Oast Farm Fruit in Lephams Bridge and is about to embark on brewing cider with his own apples.
Rosa whose mother Toos founded Laines Organics, has been farming organically for 45 years, long before most of us knew of that word!
Ben, at Allwood Farm who with his wife Bryony and their 2 year old daughter work a plot of land near Arlington growing, among many other things, spectacular organic lettuce.
